It is located 9 kms. northeast of the city. It is an observatory open to the public. Specialized guides provide explanatory talks and you can see the stars by telescope. The first dome with twelve-inch telescope was donated by the Cerro Tololo Observatory. It has a cafe and a multimedia room where the program Arqueoastronomía, recreate the cosmic interpretation of Andean music.
